OUR STORY

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

Who are we?

Jariyah Foundation Inc. is a US-based volunteer-powered non-profit organization founded by a group of women and people of color who envision creating lasting and continuous charity. Our inspiration is drawn from the humanitarian and ongoing charity work of Banu Ouyoun in remote villages of the Philippines since 2005, and by dedicated volunteers in Malaysia since 2018. We believe in a world where everyone has access to education, health care, shelter, and opportunities regardless of their race or religion. We are focused on establishing and promoting healthy, safe, sustainable and flourishing communities. We are also committed to fostering friendships and providing assistance and resources to vulnerable people while striving to establish an everlasting legacy of positive impact on local and global communities. We accomplish our mission by developing long-term trust and relationships with carefully selected partner charities who share our mission, vision and commitment to excellence and accountability. We then provide funding, resources and volunteers to help these organizations make greatest impact in the lives of those they serve.

Our team is made of compassionate and dedicated uncompensated board members and volunteers who are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of those we serve. We work tirelessly to raise funds and awareness for our causes. We are honored to be given the trust and opportunity to serve individuals and families who are facing a wide of range of challenges in life. Together we can end poverty.

Unite The Society

When community members come together, rely on each other and are working together with common goals, individuals become healthier and stronger and able to be more productive.   • Focused support

    We strive to provide targeted support to address specific needs and challenges faced by the community we serve. We focus heavily on being responsive to the unique needs of each individual and families in order to provide necessary resources to help them achieve their goals and fluorish.

  • Collaboration

    We work collaboratively with community partners to maximize our impact and achieve common goals. We build strong relationships with local chapters, organizations, business, and government entities to create a coordinated and effective network of support.

  • Community Empowerment

    We seek to empower communities by building the capacity of each community and addressing its challenges and strengths. We highlight each community's potentials, foster a sense of ownership and pride among community members by acknowledging and supporting their leadership, decision-making and local culture and practices. Empowered communities have increased confidence and sense of belonging and trust. This in turn leads to improved feelings of power, control and skills among local people that resulted in improved wellbeing.

  • Data-driven approach

    We use data to guide our decision-making process and in measuring our impact factor. We strive to collect, research and analyze relevant data to ensure that we are meeting the needs of each community, and continuously improve our programs and services as needed.

  • Inclusion

    We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members of the community. We honor and embrace diversity and promote equity in our programs and services in order to ensure that everyone feels valued and respected.
